Westeel, a manufacturer of agricultural steel building has completed the trial of a massive grain bin in Watford

The bin has a roof that is 33 metres in diameter and can store 700,000 bushels of grain

Harley Wilcocks of Wilcocks Brothers of Watford Ltd., provided his land for this test site. Wilcox is a commercial bin builder with experienced crews and the specialized equipment capable of building this size of roof.

Westeel said the design of the purlins, part of the roof structure, allows for easier assembly and more strength.

Westeel has been granted a U.S. patent and expects the granting of a Canadian patent soon.
